Hi, I have a Creative Labs USB webcam, and I want to 'broadcast' it live on the internet. I have it up and running on Windows, but my webserver is running SuSE. Does anyone know how I would go about this, either instaling it on my SuSE box and 'streaming' direct from there, or some Windows software that I can 'forward' from my SuSE box? I have tried searching Google, but entering 'live webcam setup' returns a load of 'naked college student live' URLs <g> Phil -- Linux 2.4.4-4GB 6:34pm up 13 min, 1 user, load average: 0.66, 0.40, 0.20

Try searching on "Creative Labs USB webcam". I suspect that people who are looking for naked college students aren't thinking about USB. Try also http://www.linux-usb.org/ - it has a lot of information about USB camera devices. JDL -- May the source be with you.

http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/ http://gecius.de/vgrabbj/ the first URL has all the drivers you need. the second URL has a program that'll snap a picture and upload to a FTP every few seconds. it's not really "broadcasting" but it's easy to setup. the first URL has a list of working software if you want to try all of them out. xiaolei

Thanks, after a lot of searching I have it working as a 'frame to jpeg every minute', less luck geting 'real time' pictures. Phil -- Linux 2.4.4-4GB 8:41pm up 2 days, 2:21, 1 user, load average: 0.32, 0.18, 0.11
