Hi, I have compiler new kernel 2.6 and everything seems to be fine. I hae also made kernel image too. The problem is that I can not find "lilo.conf" file which is supposed to be in "/etc" directory to modify it. There is no such file there. Have anyone faced same problem? Are you using LILO? Most systems are using GRUB. No I am using GRUB. Should I change "GRUB.conf" instead? D. Mike skrev:

Yep.. That's the one. Heck, I'm not even sure if lilo is installed anymore. You can also make changes using Yast>Bootloader if you want to. Mike

No, don't touch that file. The file you should change is /boot/grub/menu.lst. However, it it probably easier for you to use YaST/YaST2: System-> Bootloader Charles

If you use "make install" it will do the required modifications for you. You just need to review them. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
