Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Linux box as RAS with PPP
Letting people connect to your system using ppp is easy. (I don't have any experience with DHCP but that must be just as easy). In the rc.config you look for the line #mo:respawn:mgetty....etc you remove the # and fill in your /dev/modem (forinstance /dev/cua1). De modem is ready to receive calls. When user dials in, the only thing they have do is enter the following line pppd /dev/modem serveraddress:pppsessionadres (can't remember it completly) But is is in the SuSE handbook asswell. And then they have a ppp session. If you cant find it in the book. Post another e-mail and I will get the script. (I am not home at this moment I'm at work no Linux dialin here (a shame though)) I have build a script called ppp to do just that I only have one modem for dialin. ----------

I want to set up one of my SERIAL ports as a RAS connection with PPP (supporting dynamic IP and TCP/IP). A quick look at the PPP how-to talks mainly about Linux box accessing a PPP server at the ISP.
I was wondering if anyone has done this and request them to share their ideas.
TIA
