[SuSE Linux] Thinkpad 600, SuSE 5.2
I earlier posted an issue installing SuSE on a thinkpad 500. Thought I would let anyone trying to do it the answer. The issue was, even with the thinkpad boot disk image, After it installed everything off the first CD, and wanted to do the initial reboot, when the boot process stated: decompressing image....., the screen would go black and you would be in endless reboot cycle.. The answer is to boot AGAIN off the thinkpad image boot disk, have it boot the installed system, and finish the installation. Then, recompile the image. I think the Thinkpad 600 is one of those that can't handle the BZimage files, but if you make zImage kernel and then reboot (after the make zlilo or your equivalent), it works fine. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
