[opensuse] Using Zip Drive on 10.1
I moved my external Zip Drive to my Linux box to access a file stored there. KDE popped an icon on the desktop. HOWEVER, when tried to access it this came up: Method "Mount" with signature "ssas" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist In my 10.0 installation this method worked just fine. Well.... at least clicking on the desktop icon worked just fine. I use an external hard drive sometimes on the USB port also. What does this message mean and how the heck do I access my drive? -- (o:]>*HUGGLES*<[:o) Billie Walsh The three best words in the English Language: "I LOVE YOU" Pass them on! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Wellllll......I asked the very same question many weeks ago and received no replies. I guess there is no answer or there is no solution. It wasn't a zip drive or an external USB drive though, it was just when trying to read a DVD in the dvd drive. Still happens. Have no idea what this message means or signifies. "Mount" with signature "ssas" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist Does anybody else ????? In my case, SuSE 10.1, I can put a dvd in the drive and a small window pops up asking what I want to do. If I access the drive from there everything works just fine, BUT if I go to Konqueror and look for the drive in /media all I see is the floppy drive. In 10.0 I used to find all the permanent drives and the temps when they were plugged in.
