also seems to error on could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/ , removing from list.

Anyone got any ideas, I have been trying for nearly a week.

I do not know about this card, but I do have a GeForce 256. Is the driver loaded, type 'lsmod'. You should NVdriver in the list. There are two versions of the kernel driver, one is for 4.0 the other for 4.01. Make sure you have the right one.
