hi,
i had the same problem i couple of days ago and what i figured out was that the installation source that i had was invalid (FTP). so all i did was change the installation source to a different FTP site (mirror) and, voila... it listed all the packages. hope this helps Infra ---------------------------------------------- Visit my Music Band's web site @ www.71worship.com -----Original Message----- From: stevetamara@mindspring.com [mailto:stevetamara@mindspring.com] Sent: Thursday, February 13, 2003 10:32 AM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] Yast2 Shows only installed packages, won't install others I have upgraded to suse 8.1 pro on my dell i8200 and have run into a problem. When I go into Yast or yast2 to install a package, it only shows me the packages already installed. In particular I am trying to install jpilot. I have mounted the dvd and tried to select the rpm and install, I have tried to go into adminstration and select it. No matter how I try to install it, yast2 will start up for a second, then the window just disappears. I have searched the mailing lists and googled. Is no one else having this problem? I even did an rpm --rebuilddb and nothing fixes this problem. Does anyone know what i can try next? If I go into Yast2 and try to search for jpilot (or any file) it's as if i didn't type anything to search for, it instantly returns the button to unselected. In other words it did the search and didn't find the file.
