To ALL: First, I use SuSe 9.2 Pro on its own 20gig disc with a 1.7mhz cpu and 700+megs of ram. I have 3 rpm packages that I have tried to install, to no avail, the error readings show the conflicts and need for different libraries that I do no have on my 9.2! I will now list the 3 packages and ask if anyone can tell me if they are installable on my computer. First, Kmymoney-0.6-1.FC2.i386.rpm; second,mozilla-1.7.8-0.1.i586.rpm and third,mozilla-1.7.8-0.1.i586.rpm. :-[

This rpm is created for Fedora Core 2 and probably will not work on SuSE.

this is like trying to bolt a Volvo engine into a vw. You should stick with SuSE 9.2 rpm's. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery

Thanks for the reply, I will delete them from the download and anywhere else they appear. Boy, was that painless for me! I appreciate it. :-)

What's up with the Mozilla RPMs? SuSE provides them with the distribution, and keeps up on security patches for 9.2. You should be able to get a fairly recent Mozilla by using YaST and your DVD. -- Regards, Steven

I don't think, that SUSE used to tag their rpms as ...SuSE91.i586.rpm and probably you just downloaded that from _another_ source/site (suser-guru?). I guess, that you know about the risk third party rpms could cause your system. If you are new even for the rpm-related stuff, probably you wish to stay first with the binaries on your install-media and YOUpdate mirrors. The tar.bz2/tar.gz archives most likely you have to first compile and then install. For that you would need likely additional (e.g. *-devel) rpm packages installed on your system. I'm not sure, that any of the source tarballs tell you anything about needed dependencies... Pelibali

Get SuSE rpms here. http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/suse/9.2/i386/index.html rpms are 99% of the time distro-specific. -- Tony Alfrey tonyalfrey@earthlink.net "I'd Rather Be Sailing"
