[opensuse] evolution contacts
Has anyone else that is using 10.3 and evolution noticed their contacts list auto adding addresses even though that setting is turned off? Every time I reply to any email the OP's address is being added to my contacts list. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ken, did you turn it off in Plugins - Automatic Contacts or elsewhere? -- ---Bryen--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The only place I see the option is: Edit-->Preferences-->Mail Preferences, Automatic Contacts And the selection is un-checked. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ah. Didn't look there. It doesn't make sense to have the same option in more than one place and only one works. If the one under Edit->Prefs doesn't work why don't the devs remove it. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Because if everything worked perfectly the first time around, then these lists would look too quiet, and we need the activity? :-) -- ---Bryen--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Is it not a wiser idea to disable the particular plug-in that is doing this than to kill them all willy-nilly? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, I typed that in haste. I meant "Automatic Contacts" plugin. But I think Ken figured that out. -- ---Bryen--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks! That worked for me. However this is still a bug though, disabling the plugin was never a requirement before. Turning the option off used to be enough. -- Regards, Aniruddha Please adhere to the OpenSUSE_mailing_list_netiquette http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_mailing_list_netiquette -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I don't know if that's considered a bug or what. I just noticed myself that certain options in preferences are not adhered to. Apparently, plugins take precedence over any corresponding similar options in preferences, but they do not link to plugin options. For example, just now, I noticed that in Mail Preferences > New Mail Notifications, the option is set to not notify me of new mail. However, I always do get notifications, because the mail notification plugin is enabled. More of a "one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing" situation. I'd term this more of an enhancement request than a bug. -- ---Bryen--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
