[opensuse] dual boot 11.2 with windows 7
I want to install 11.2 alongside windows 7 on a laptop with windows 7 already installed. Does Yast still have the option to shrink windows 7 to make space for the install? I've done it before with an XP machine but don't know if there are any issues with the windows 7 dual boot. Yes. I installed 11.2 with default options and it shrunk the win7 disk down. Win7 was added to the GRUB startup. The only option I would have liked is to be able to say how big I wanted the win7 partition without having to go through the manual partition setup. Anyway, all went well. The most reliable way to shrink a Vista volume is to use its built-in tool made for the purpose. Was that option removed from the "simplified" Win7? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731894.aspx#BKMK_CMD seems to say not, but see also: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Can-I-repartition-my-hard-d... -- " We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion."
