This may be completely unrelated to your situation, but then it just might help :) I bought the Triteal CDE from RedHat when I was still using redhat. to install it you needed to run install-CDE which was located under /cdrom. I too kept getting permission denied. redhat's solution was that I comment the cdrom entry in my /etc/fstab. I folloed their advice and it worked. after I installed, I simply fixed my fstab file. Maybe there is a similar problem with applixware? Good luck anyway Mark Philip Bennett wrote:
Help. I recently switched from Red Hat 5.0 to S.u.S.E. 5.1. I didn't realize that Applixware was designed for Red Hat. I tried to ./install-applix from my /cdrom but got a "Permission Denied" message. I also tried to install it with RPM but was informed that Applix menus was also needed. Does anyone know how I might install it? I really enjoy using it. BTW I also am really enjoying S.u.S.E. 5.1.
