[opensuse] Installing R
Hello, I recently installed Open SuSE 11.3 for evaluation, and I'm trying to install R. As near as I can tell, it's not included in the default repositories, but I went to the online build service site and found two rpms, R-base and R-base-devel and downloaded them. Since it's been years (literally) since I mucked about much on an RPM base system, I'm a little fuzzy on the correct command line incantation to install these packages and include any dependencies necessary. If someone could help me out - either with the correct command, or with a nudge to the right place to read up on the specifics... I'd appreciate it greatly. TIA, Monte -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Go to http://software.opensuse.org/113/en and search for the 2 packages. There is a repository set up already, and also 1-Click installs (which will add the repo for you). YaST/zypper handles the installation and handles the dependencies. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
