[opensuse] seamonkey session doesn't close
Hello, Yesterday I clicked on the update icon and, with others, seamonkey was updated to 2.25 (on OS 12.3, KDE). When I close the browser window (using the button at the top on the right) In expect seamonkey to close completely just as if I had clicked on file -> close. But since the update it does not anymore. I use session cookies for example for those pages that try to follow me thru the web (facebook, google...). So if I once in a while login to such a site I first close all my browser windows, then open a new one, login, and when I finish I close the browser to get rid of the cookies. But now I realized that when I come back to such a page, I am still logged in. This means, the cookies haven't been deleted. I can reproduce this behavior: - closing browser window with button: cookies survive - closing via menu: cookies deleted Is this a new feature (leaving programs running "in secret" just like mac's do) or a bug? Anybody knows something about that? I tell FF to start a different profile instead. I get two different FF instances, each one with their own directories to store separate cookies and things. In one I'm logged in, in the other I'm not. In theory. I have to verify things. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. I do have several profiles for things I use often, but the session cookies help for these pages that I visit only once in a while.. However the problem is solved now since a zypper up... WRT cookies question I have no idea, since I almost never pay any attention to cookies, and start SM sessions by restoring previous session. Maybe good thing to do is update to latest SeaMonkey to see if that behavior persists. Mozilla.org's 2.26 was built April 29, 2 weeks ago. Maybe 12.3 users need to enable the optional Mozilla repo to get past 2.25? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." There was a new update today (still 2.25) and the problem doesn't appear anymore. I am not sure if it was seamonkey problem. I had something similar with firefox (the process still existed, but there was no window open...). I run a zypper up and rebooted and now everything seems to be ok... thanks for the response.
