i ve a USB modem Wisecom 56 k that it doesn t work in any serial ttyS* or /dev/modem Suse 8.1 sees the modem as Thomson Electr Windows sees it at Com 3 any idea how it ll work? Thanx in advance

Thanx in advance In order to find if your modem is ACM compliant, try : modprobe acm (I suppose that the modules usbcore and usb-o(u)hci are loaded) and edit the file /proc/bus/usb/devices in the entries of your modem you'll see "Driver acm" if ACM compliant and "Driner none" if not.
