Hi, Thanks to all who assisted; nvidia is now working on 9.1. Note: using sax2 -m 0=nvidia did not work, it required a 'reset' to get a reboot. Using sax2 -m 0=nv did work. Why oh why can't we get the most common video card brand working in a quick and easy way? I'm new to this list and SuSE. I've looked for help on the laptop list, but I'm language challanged there. I just installed 9.1 Pro on my new HP Pavilion after repartitioning, reverting to FAT32 and reinstalling XP. Connecting a second monitor to the VGA socket works either as a clone of the first display, or as an extended desktop (my desired mode), on XP but not SuSE. Using YOU got me up to date nVidia drivers, but only a clone display. Running `XFree86 -scanpci' shows one adapter, and SaX2 says only a single monitor is possible. If it can be done on the dark side, shouldn't it also work here? Appreciations, Gene Details: Graphics Adapter: nVidia GForce FX Go5600 Display (per HP): 17.0 inch WXGA+ WA TFT (1440x900), 6x9 aspect ratio Display (per XaS2): VESA 1280x1024 @ 60Hz, size 270 x 200mm Actual size 360mm wide x 230mm high

I'm afraid if you used 0=nv then you have configured the built into X, non-accelerated nvidia driver, *not* the proprietary NVidia driver! Can you use glxgears? Good day! -- _____________________ Christopher R. Carlen crobc@earthlink.net SuSE 9.1 Linux 2.6.5
