[S.u.S.E. Linux] Problem whit Yast.
Hello friends. Up to now REDHAT 5.0 worked with Linux and I have substituted it for SuSE 5.1. Well, when I finish installing all that I need and boot linux appears a message that it tells me that Yast doesn't finish carrying out the installation, it loads of the CD number 1 and later it tells me that everything has concluded. As I can avoid that every time that Linux pulls up SuSe 5.1 it indicates me the same thing? Have I maybe made some error? As I can solve it? Sorry for my Inglish but to write it has not been given too well. Thanks in advance. fmc@redestb.es -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
Hello: If you read the message on the screen, you will see that you can use Linux but you have to wait until YAST finishes the configuration. If you switch to Console 9,(Alt-9) you can see the progress. I dont know why but in my case it took more than an hour to finish the configuration. Maybe, I am doing something wrong too. Anyway, just to make sure, swicth to Console 9, and see everthing is done, before shutting down, or rebooting. Bye. Cengiz On Mon, 11 May 1998, Fjoe wrote:

Yast has to runs some scripts after install, and depending on how fast your box is it can take quite some time for it to finish up. If you reboot before Yast has a chance to finish it will start over again next time you boot up. tty9 shows what yast is doing and lets you know when it's done. Fjoe wrote:

Be patient ;) It takes approx. 30 minuten or longer to finish. If you do not finish the program properly, it will continue the next time. So run it again and take a long coffee break ;) regards, Ruud. -- Next time you wave, use all your fingers. -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
