I can't recall the method during boot. Post boot I sometimes use this to enlarge the console font: setfont /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/iso01-12×22.psfu.gz Greg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Default console font is set in /etc/sysconfig/console. But the question is whether the actual problem is not too high resoliton. In this case lowering resolution using video=1024x768 (or whatever is suitable) kernel parameter may help too. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

By 'boot process' I presume you mean the part before the kernel is installed and running, before systemd has done all its stuff. There in grub2/grub.cfg is font="/grub2/unicode.pf2" I think you want https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/502913-Changing-grub2-FONT-size-a... What happens when I boot is that the above line - and yes I've played with it over the years and with the 'theme' settings and the fonts defined by the theme and the eye candy of the theme - defines the font to start with, the font for the menu and if you suppress the "splash=silent quiet" you get a lot of detail, I presume this is what you are talking about. I must admit I've never tried stoping that to go step by step. Then ... something happens ... Perhaps its the pivot, but the font then changes. I think THIS is the font that Greg and Andrey are talking about. So there you have it, two different sources of the font for two parts of the boot operation. If you use LILO or the original grub that first part may be different. I don't so I can't look at my config to tell you. But its there somewhere. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
