Problems w/ install-sendmail script on SuSE 7.3
Hello, I have been using the script install-sendmail for quite a while now, on RedHat, SuSE, and Debian systems w/ no problems. Recently, I had it working on a workstation running SuSE 7.3, but for various reasons ended up mistakenly uninstalling Sendmail (whoops!). After I reinstalled sendmail, I went to re-run the install-sendmail script. Now it errors out and gives me a message that I at least have not seen before (included below). If you have any idea what I need to set straight to get install-sendmail to work again, I would greatly appreciate it. I kind of need the email working correctly on my workstation while I work on learning how to do it manually on my server along w/ IMAP/POP3. One thing at a time, though. Probably some weird locking problems between sendmail and makemap...make sure sendmail isn't running and that you aren't trying to do this over nfs. Otherwise, the usual trick is to wrap makemap in a Makefile that makes the map with a different different name and then replaces the old map with it. -- -ckm
