I have a soundblaster 16..but the thing is that i have no idea where to set it up. When i installed it, it never asked for any soundcard. In YaST i found Systemadmin Integrate hardware Config Sound Driver But i canŽt get in to config Sound Driver. Its like i donŽt have one.. ehh and maybe i donŽt ;-) ---------- - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
You can a) use OSS, it is a total no brainer, but there may be a conflict between using OSS for sound and isapnp to configure your gameport if you use a joystick/gamepad. b) you can configure your kernel to use sound as a module and set up isapnp to initialize your soundcard at boot. There are how-tos for sound and isapnp at <A HREF="ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO</A">ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO</A> Mikael Olsson wrote:

Hi! [about an SB16] Trying to kill the keyboard, mlankton@home.com produced:
b) you can configure your kernel to use sound as a module and set up isapnp to initialize your soundcard at boot. There are how-tos for ^^^^^^ if it's a pnp-card. Not every SB16 is one. I for example have ye olde AWE32 (non/half PNP). Anyway you can use loadlin if you need to setup certain things in DOS. For me it was just making a new kernel with the right options in sound IIRC (but I may be wrong -- it's a long time since).
