[SLE] problem with yast and kernel too big
Hello ! I want to compile my kernel by adding just the scsi emulation support. the problem is that with only this small change my kernel is too big !! So I tried to put "everything" (the more i could) in modules but my kernel is still too big !! my kernel version is 2.2.10 and i've got SuSE 6.2. Other problem: now that i've got a big kernel, yast doesn't work anymore (when i try to start it, the first window "YAST Version ..." appears and nothing else happens !!). I don't think that's because of my big kernel but this problem started after i installed my big kernel !! what can i do ??? thanks ! thierry -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
PLease read the README in the /usr/src/linux directory as in there it will tell you many interesting things including how to avoid your problem. Hint : look for bzimage CP -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
How did you compile the kernel; with 'make zImage'? If the kernel is to big you'll have to use 'make bzImage'. On Sun, 07 May 2000, you wrote:
