Hi all, Need some help with reconfiguring x. Seems the reason I am having trouble getting the right desktop size in relationship to my monitor screen size is that when i installed i selected vga instead of svga (Duh). this is what i have figured out so far: ctr+alt+f2 login as root init 3 start YaST Package management---change configuration xsrv section i need to mark the xmach64 and xsvga. press f10 twice. select start installation. leave YaST type: sax -s mach64 Question is this...now the xvga option is "i". Do I put an "R" or a "D" in the xvga box? Thanks, Dallam _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.

an r means reinstall, and would have the same effect as letting it i. (installed). Also, are you sure you need the xmach64? It's only needed when you have such a card.

hi, I'm a member of a students association of informatics and we are responsible for 4 computer rooms. Earlier this year we installed SuSE Linux on the computers and now a lot of people come tos ask us if we can copy this distribution for them. The problem is that we did an ftp-installation and we don't even have the cd's. I mirrored the ftp-server on my computer at school so the few that can bring their computers with them have been able to do a (very fast) ftp-install from my machine. My question is: is there an easy/difficult way to burn the ftp distribution on cd's in such a way that YaST knows what package is on what cd? thanks, -- dieter
