This is an issue of PnP, BIOS and SuSE 7.3 (don't know about other distros or SuSE versions) This machine has Windows XP too The BIOS configuration is using PnP OS = Yes, to let the OS configure I/O and IRQ for devices (specially PCI slots). 1. If i let PnP OS = Yes, I need to issue a "setpci" command in Linux to enable a particular I/O port.... Where should I put this command? boot.local? or where? CAn I do it in /etc/rc.d/serial script? 2. If I let PnP OS = NO, will this affect Windows XP in some way? Thanks for helping out -------------------------------------------------------- Juan Francisco Torres Ch.
