Hi, my name is Max, I'm from Rome and I am a new user of suse linux. Configuring my suse menu in KDE with KMenuedit I lost some program links in submenus. After saving configuration those modified menus aren't visible in kmenuedit. What's happened? Other question: how can I configure modules loading at boot? Thanks in advance.

Other question: how can I configure modules loading at boot? Can you be more specific? I am assuming you are new to both Linux and Unix. There are daemon processes that are loaded when the system transitions from single user mode to multi-user mode. This is done before the GUI (X, KDE or GNOME) is loaded. These are generally loaded via the run levels, and may be configured through the YaST run level editor.
Then there are things that are started when you log into the GUI. Some of
these can be set up, just by saving your session. Others can be started by
editing .xinitrc
Also, kernel modules are usually loaded when needed. However, they may be
installed at bootup time by adding the appropriate line
in /etc/modprobe.conf or /etc/modprobe.conf.local

Can you be more specific? I have to load these modules: raw1394 video1394 dv1394
and I don't want to load them each time by using modprobe

Can this be achieved only adding module's name in /etc/modprobe.conf.local?
