Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has tried VMware for linux yet? I bought it (the intro price $75), But didn't want to install it until I got a bigger hard drive, upgraded KDM, and do some other stuff. If you have tried it, how does it run under SuSE? Also, I looked around Xfree86.org, but couldn't find the answer. What's the difference in 3.4 and 3.3.1, Is it just a bigfix release? Thanks James bond225@tiac.net

Yes, I have installed it. It does work, mostly. It doesn't do what I bought it mostly for, run 1st person shooters in Win98. It doesn't have ActiveX sound and the game can't see that I have an accelerated video card. I'm going to fiddle with it some more. Also the opening chord on Win98 is very choppy. I may put some other Win98 apps I have in and try them out. I was able to install Win98 from the CD and it detected the hardware as advertised. I suspect it is affecting the performance of Linux. Netscape used to just pop up when started. Now there is a noticeable delay. YMMV Jeff

I have used VMware under SuSE 6.0 and 6.1. Works great! Just make sure you have the resources to run it. (read the README. . . )

Lots more video cards supported, better 3D stuff. . . etc -- Sanjay gnuman@home.com Windows has detected that a gnat has farted near your computer. Press any key to reboot.

Oh I got those: K6-II/450 96 megs of ram soon to be 256. ::Tim Allen-esque grunts:: ;) This is the first kicking computer I've ever had. before I built this a couple months ago, all I had was a 386/20, a Mac IIfx and my TRS-80 laptop. hehehe
