I was just curious if anyone has had any issues with the keyboard putting down additional characters while typing. It's almost like when I'm typing it becomes to sensitive and puts down like two t's when I'm typing put. I had this problem with Mandrake before, but it only seems to be a problem with this Toshibal Satellite 5105-s607. Havn't seen this problem with a Dell Insprion 7000 or a smaller Satellite I have. Anyone else see this problem and might have a way to fix it? Thanks Aric ----------------------------------------- "Don't think you are... ...Know you are." --Morpheus - The Matrix

Known problem with some Toshiba laptos. Searching for "toshiba keyboard" in the SDB will lead you directly to this article: http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/12/mmichna_kbd-bounce.html Greetings from Bremen hartmut

Now that you mention it..... I noticed the same thing but thought it was me (becuase I just installed a new keyboard which coincided with the installation of Suse 9). Didn't happent to me prior to v9.0. Cheers. -- Wagner's music is really not as bad as it sounds.

Just noticed in YAST ---> System ---> /etc/sysconfig Editor ---> hardware ---> keyboard ---> X11 --> KBD_Bounce_Fix On some Toshiba based keyboards an unusual sequence of keyboard events are produced. To prevent this for the X-Window system you can set the following variable to: (yes). -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------

Aha, thanks for that. I'll now set that parameter. I don't have a Toshiba. It's actually the new Logitech MX Duo. It would appear that the keyboard may share some (?bad) features with the Toshiba. Cheers. -- Wagner's music is really not as bad as it sounds.
