i'm trying to configure diald to use wvdial to connect. i don't know if this is possible. anyway,
after editing the /etc/diald.conf to use wvdial (connect wvdial), i get disconnected after i
connect. the following is the /var/log/messages file associated with this connection:

Instead of doing that, see: http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/hoe_wv_dod_start.html This tells you how to use wvdial and pppd to get demand dialing. I had to modify the script due to problems with the way it was put on the web page (line breaks, etc.) and for a couple of other things. See my version at: http://paulsen.home.texas.net/wvdial.dod See my comments near the beginning of the script. Since I got this working, I have stopped using diald. Things are working great, at least on my SuSE 6.3 system. You might want to also investigate the new firewals package (sec group) that is in 6.3.
