[opensuse] user option in /etc/fstab
Hi list, - one may put "user" into the mount options in etc/fstab. - from the man page: Common for all types of file system are the options ``noauto'' (do not mount when "mount -a" is given, e.g., at boot time), ``user'' (allow a user to mount) BUT...I simply don't understand, how on earth is a common user going to mount a winshare? If, in etc/fstab, I have a line: 172.16.9.100:/lnxfavk /media/win cifs rw,user, noauto, exec 0 0 - that's fine, no complaints from nowhere. But who, except root, is going to be able to mount anything, anyhow?? -- ------------------------------ Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Put user and password for the windows share into the fstab entry and any user can mount it. Philipp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
