Hi Deborah, The creator's webpage is a good place to start: http://www.anders.com/projects/netatalk Honestly, though - there's almost nothing to do. Just install it, start it, and fire up your Mac. Can you point me to where I can read more information on this? The archives are non-searchable. Bummer. Eric Carbone wrote:

Oh ... additionally, you may have to edit the file 'netatalk.conf' (located in /etc/atalk
Open it in a text editor, and about the 10th line down you may need:
ATALK_NAME='server_name'
Replace server_name with whatever. Again, you may need to reboot.

Well there is a OSX bug that odes not permit passwd logons to appletalk FYI, it has to do with compile time flags not being set. Might search the DB to see about work arounds, I gave in and just decided on NFS for the OSX laptop I use against a Linux server. In OSX you can use NFS,SMB, or Appletak. On the menu use the "go" dialog and do nfs://servername/sharename same for appletalk or Samba smb://xxxx Regards, Jon ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Sheehan" <b.sheehan@neu.edu> To: <deborah@heritagemedia.com> Cc: "Eric Carbone" <ERIC@morprinting.com>; <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 10:33 AM Subject: Re: FW: [SLE] appletalk
