Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Success story number xxxx: Thinkpad+SUSE5.2, WORKS!
Great! I have a thinkpad 600 which isn't cooperating either. Where was this boot disk posted? -----Original Message----- From: Edgar F. Ok, here is one success story that may help other prospective Thinkpad + SUSE 5.2 users.
As some of you may recall, some time ago I posted a question regarding a problem that I had with my laptop, where none of the supplied boot disks would boot up my machine.
Well, the SUSE folks came to the rescue! They built a test bootdisk that certainly works (at least on my thinkpad, 365x). I am able to boot up, install the packages, configure, etc..
However, I still needed to recompile the kernel with the appropriate options before I was able to boot off the hard drive. No problem there.
Anyway, again, SuSE folks: THANKS! Keep on giving Linux a good name!
