I'm trying to write some help files in the DocBook format. The only cheap (free/no cost) SGML editor I found was XEmacs. I mean an editor that can show me a list of valid tags, not just a text editor. What other SGML editors are available? Are there any specifically for DocBook? Secondly, I can't seem to get XEmacs to properly load the DTD. How do I tell XEmacs where the DTD is? Have you tried lyx or kylx since they can creat output as sgml and then use the sgml-tools to do what ever you want -- Togan Muftuoglu
I've got an IBM 1 GB Microdrive that I need to repartition. Win98's FDISK screwed up the partitioning horribly, so I'm trying to fdisk it under Linux. I'm having some troubles getting PCMCIA working on SUSE, but I'm also unsure how to get fdisk to recognize the drive once I get PCMCIA working. So, if anybody has experience with microdrives and SUSE linux (or PCMCIA mounted storage media in general), I'd appreciate any tips. For example, I don't know what block device it would show up as (e.g., /dev/hde???), etc. Eric

My experiance with these is quite limited. We use one of these wiith a digital camera and read the data on WinNT 4.0. Thre is sort of PCMCIA adapter (I use one of these with my memory modules from my private camera) the drive fits in and a SCSI to PCMCIA adapter to read the thomh in the end. This works nice under NT and I tried it also once with linux (it will be sdaX there). I read my camera modules with the laptop, the drive defaults to hdc1 (hde sound also possible in your case - trial and error). I havn't tried our microdrive in my laptop yet (it's the smaller 340 MB btw)

There was very less to do -make sure the pcmcia service runs- there are a few config files, mainly for automount. you have to run "cardctrl eject [0|1]" before ejecting since the hdX driver is not "hot plugable". After inserting, the laptop beeps and after that a device hdc or hde should be there. You can probably dig in the /proc filesystem for more hints once you start searching. (ls -l /proc/ide to see the devices)

Hmmm , interesting , please let me know how this works out as I also have one that came with pc camera. Once you get pcmia working , check your boot up very carfully , you will se it probe fpor diskdrives and will show how they are addressed and wich partion its seeing that particular drive and partion.
