[opensuse] gnome-screensaver dpms stopped working reliably - 11.1
With one of the recent updates, gnome-screensaver seems to be kicking the dpms setting on my monitor briefly, and then the monitor comes back on. I did notice a problem with gnome-power-manager dying (turned out to e related to an update to the gstreamer "bad" plugins, which I've removed - resolving that problem), but now the power manager is running and the power settings are to kick the screensaver off after 10 minutes inactivity and the power for the monitor off after 11 minutes. With a direct activation of the screensaver through a panel applet or the gnome-screensaver-command tool, it's always been 1 minute after activation that it kicks the monitor off. But now it's kicking it off at the expected time, and then within seconds (2-5 seconds) the monitor comes back on. No password dialog comes up. The only time I'd noticed behaviour like this was when I had an actual mouse connected to the system. I now only have an old Alps glidepoint attached (which I have used for a long time) and a Wacom Intuos4 tablet - but with the mouse off the active area of the tablet, I still see this problem. It doesn't seem to be a mouse movement or any other input that's kicking it back on as near as I can tell. How might I diagnose this issue? I *am* using an experimental wacom kernel driver (for OLED support in my tablet) but the X driver is an unmodified driver (built from source) that I'd used prior to the update that seems to have caused this problem; the update was a couple of weeks ago, and I don't recall what the updates were that were applied at that point. Thanks for any help in tracking this down.
