Has anyone ever connected Suse to Windows 2003 vpn?
Hi, One might first ask why? We'll it would nice to use my main Linux box to make vnc connections to a customer site running a Windows 2003. At the moment I have to wind up a poor little windows XP box to vpn into the Windows 2003 server. Now my main box is Suse 9.1 but it is running latest ppp stuff (from Suse 9.3). It will open vpn tunnels to other linux, and window 2000 servers. Using same connection profiles it will not connect to the Windows 2003 server. The relevant logs on linux are: Aug 30 19:23:46 queeg pppd[4527]: pppd 2.4.3 started by elbournb, uid 0Aug 30 19:23:46 queeg pppd[4527]: Using interface ppp0 Aug 30 19:23:46 queeg pppd[4527]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/3Aug 30 19:23:48 queeg pptp[4530]: anon log[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:926]: PPTP_SET _LINK_INFO received from peer_callid 0Aug 30 19:23:48 queeg pptp[4530]: anon log[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:929]: send_a ccm is 00000000, recv_accm is FFFFFFFFAug 30 19:23:48 queeg pptp[4530]: anon warn[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:932]: Non-zer o Async Control Character Maps are not supported!Aug 30 19:23:48 queeg pptp[4530]: anon log[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:926]: PPTP_SET _LINK_INFO received from peer_callid 0Aug 30 19:23:48 queeg pptp[4530]: anon log[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:929]: send_a ccm is FFFFFFFF, recv_accm is FFFFFFFFAug 30 19:23:48 queeg pptp[4530]: anon warn[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:932]: Non-zer o Async Control Character Maps are not supported!Aug 30 19:23:48 queeg pppd[4527]: LCP terminated by peer (zM-P^NM-#^@<M-Mt^@^@^B M-3)Aug 30 19:23:48 queeg pptp[4530]: anon log[ctrlp_disp:pptp_ctrl.c:888]: Received Call Clear Request.Aug 30 19:23:50 queeg pppd[4527]: Connection terminated. Hopefully, I have just missed a config step...anyone had any success trying this? Any pointers? Berni

Bernie, have you tried using rdesktop? It uses the RDP protocol. I can log into Windows Server 2003 while on the domain network, and from the internet. For logging in over the internet you will need to forward port 3389 requests to the Windows Server 2003. Then you can log in and manage at will. James W
