I bought 6.4 last week and installed it to a new hard drive. Except for the fact that Partition Magic 5.0 and YAST2 don't necessarily see eye-to-eye, the install went very smoothly! :-) Yast2 recognized my sound card as well as my printer. (Unfortunately, the printer is an HP 712c GDI printer ........but I've dealt w/ this before.) 1. Last night I noticed I could not use my middle mouse button (it's actually the scroll wheel on my Mitsumi PS/2 scroll mouse) so I opened up SAX to check the configuration. It was not correct so I fixed that & went on through the rest of the setup. When I got to the end and tried to test the desktop settings, I was kicked out to the console login prompt. Once I got back into SAX if I so much as breathed on the mouse, it went haywire & SAX locked up - I had to use Ctrl+Alt+Bksp to get out. I kept re-trying and finally got all the way through SAX again (w/ the mouse working) and was able to test the desktop settings. But as soon as I clicked on "Save", I got kicked out to the console login prompt again. After logging in I tried to start X but kept getting the message that it was still running. One time it said to remove a lock file (can't remember the name) & so I did - still couldn't start X. Ctrl+Alt+Bksp didn't help. Finally I had to do a hard reboot when it stopped responding altogether. Once I was back in everything seemed to work fine - even the mouse. Anyone else seen this kind of flakey behavior from SAX? Any suggestions on how to fix? 2. Minor but annoying problem - I downloaded several themes for KDE and installed them via the KDE Theme manager. One of the installs did not work correctly (forgot the error message) but Theme Manager still shows it as being installed. The problem is, it won't let me remove it. The "Remove" button stays dimmed no matter what I do. I tried searching the mail list archives at kde.org to no avail. Any ideas, suggestions?
