[opensuse] Tempo 3?
Hi all, I just got back from a job interview. The interviewer asked if I could program in Xml and Tempo 3. Xml I know (more or less), but I've never heard of Tempo 3, I googled for it and could not find it. Does anyone on the list know of it? Is there a link for it? Could he have meant 'Typo3' ? /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (21.4°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi, That might be, he didn't know anything about computers. He only was asking set questions. I'll check it out. Hi,
That might be, he didn't know anything about computers. ...
That much was clear when he asked about "program[ming] in XML!"
Thanks,
JIM

Don't you just love job interviews conducted by someone who doesn't know enough to conduct the interview! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Well, he did know the difference between Windows and Linux. But he had never used Linux. :) -- Jim Hatridge Linux User #88484 Ebay ID: WartHogBulletin -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm trying to imagine having to hire more IT staff, but being required to go through a H/R department instead of directly, and trying to tell them that for these jobs the best applicants are the opposite of what you look for in all the other positions in the company. Problems with authority, not clean & neat, not terribly social, not good at being on time or getting up early, and please no certifications or degrees in computers. Just ask them what rtfm means, and if they use profanity hire them on the spot. -- bkw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I always explain that it means "Please read the manual," and grin. If the interview didn't get it I probably wouldn't take the job anyway. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Got that T-shirt! I convinced the HR department that the first thing we had to do was hire a HR person that worked for me, to save them work :) Cheers, Dave -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
