Hi all... I've got a HP LaserJet 5L. When I have it on my system runing 7.2 / lpr, it printes fine. But when I change to my system with 8.1 / Cups it will not print dark enough. Picutes can not be seen and letters are very light. I've set KLjettool as dark as it will go, but nothing changes. Can someone give me an idea what to do? I don't know anything about KLjettool, but if you haven't gotten satisfaction from it, you might try the CUPS admin functions. Point your web browser to http://localhost:631 and you should get a CUPS administration menu screen. Select "Manage Printers" and then select "Configure Printer" under the LJ5 printer that _should_ be listed. I don't have an LJ5, but I told CUPS that I did, and here's the list of additional configuration parameters it presented for me to manipulate: Contrast Level: Cyan Level: Density: Density: Dither Algorithm: Economy mode: Ghostscript Resolution: Image Type: Magenta Level: Manual Feed of Paper: MP Tray: Number of Copies: Output Type: Quality: REt Setting: StpBrightness: StpGamma: StpSaturation: Yellow Level: Perhaps some combination of one or more of these will improve your output. Hi Jim et al. Thanks for that! I'll work on it and see what comes up. JIM On Friday 14 March 2003 21:47, Jim Cunning wrote:
