Re: [SLE] Which standard kernel for SuSE6.2 and CD-writing?
David List
Could someone please tell me which standard kernel I should use for CD-writing with SuSE 6.2 when IŽm using an IDE-burner? I have tried for several days now, getting my HP CD-Writer Plus 8250i (IDE) working as an ATAPI device, but canŽt.
You can use any of the IDE kernels you want to, but you need an append line in /etc/lilo.conf. Just edit the line so that the append includes "hd?=ide-scsi" where hd? is the HP's device. Then edit /etc/modules.conf so that `alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi'. Run `lilo' and `depmod -a' to make the changes take effect, and reboot. ;) -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
