I have a Windows application that needs to run on a SuSE 9.2 box. It installs without problems and seems to work fine, except for printing. The printer dialogue detects the CUPS printer and all seems fine until you print. Then the CPU usage goes up to 100% and the procs goes throught the roof. The only way to stop it is to kill wine. Then a very huge print job appears in teh queue. The side depends on how long you wait before you kill wine. I have had one job of size 256MB. I cannot find any help by googling. Has anybody had a similar problem or a solution? I downloaded and compiled wine then installed it and printing does
work.
I did "wine notepad" and "File", "Print" and off went the printer.

I quickly tried notepad under wine and when I selected print, it showed that it wanted to print over 65000 pages! I selected it to print only 1 page and it did. Looks like I will have to download the latest wine. -- Andre Truter | Software Engineer | Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 | AIM: trusoftzaf | http://www.trusoft.za.org ~ A dinosaur is a salamander designed to Mil Spec ~

Looks like I will have to download the latest wine. I've had Crossover Office installed for years and printing usually works fine.

I tried it with the Crossover demo and it does the same. It is a custom written application and not supported by Crossover. -- Andre Truter | Software Engineer | Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 | AIM: trusoftzaf | http://www.trusoft.za.org ~ A dinosaur is a salamander designed to Mil Spec ~

Hi Don, I downloaded the latest SuSE rpm from the wine site and installed it. Now the printing works! Thanks -- Andre Truter | Software Engineer | Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 | AIM: trusoftzaf | http://www.trusoft.za.org ~ A dinosaur is a salamander designed to Mil Spec ~
