greater and lower than signs not typing on Belgian keyboard - S8.2 + KDE3.1
Hello! I have a quite annoying issue: the "greater than" and "smaller than" signs don't work on my Belgian keyboard when in an ordinary application. They do work in the yast2 test field in the keyboard configuration window but it's the only place I know of in KDE. It seems to work properly in the text environment. Is there a config file I should check somewhere? Thank you for your time! Patrick

I would first check if this is a KDE specific problem. Start another windowmanager for a change and see if the '<' and '>' keys work there. If it is specific to KDE: there is a keaboard settings dialog in the KDE controlcenter. Greetings from Bremen hartmut

Keyboard model Generic 105-key Intl PC Primary layout Belgian Primary variant: basic
Check box "Belgian" in the list

This indeed "solves" the issue but puts a supplementary icon in the taskbar (useless clutter). The problem doesn't seem to be specific to KDE. I could reproduce the same issue with WindowMaker. Thank you for your help already! Patrick
