[opensuse] Connecting to my mail sever from Android
For some reason I cannot connect to my personal mail server via my android phone (Atrix). however, if I use K9, I don't seem to have a problem. Settings are the same. Does any one know if there is a reason for this? The authentication is PLAIN and I keep getting this error: Jul 7 20:06:53 zeus postfix/smtpd[20282]: connect from blablabla[xxx.xxx.xxx.xx] Jul 7 20:06:54 zeus postfix/smtpd[20282]: lost connection after AUTH from blablabla[xxx.xxx.xxx.xx] Jul 7 20:06:54 zeus postfix/smtpd[20282]: disconnect from blablabla[xxx.xxx.xxx.xx] DNS and ip blocked to protect to the innocent. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

K-9 is just SO much better than the stock Mail app, that your question should be related to why in the hell anyone would use Stock mail app on Android. I don't know what your personal mail server offers but if you do PLAIN, I suspect you are using SSL/TLS and the standard mail app may have some problems using your certificate if its self issued. K-9 will ask once and remember your answer. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Well I concur. However, I would have liked to have integrated into the phone's system. It's there for a reason. Actually, what I'm really looking for is a android client that threads, but I got sidetracked. I'll just go back to K9. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you ever find an Android client that threads, please let me know. I too have been searching for that... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Coincidentally, I recently got an Android tablet and am also looking for a threaded email client (I have been using K9). I just found out from this thread: https://code.google.com/p/k9mail/issues/detail?id=258 that the developmental version of K9 from svn have threading support. You can build it yourself if you want to (the instructions are in post 34). Alternatively, I can send you a copy once I have time to build it. Well, that is interesting.... But those posts are from November of 2010 and later on I see the comment of Comment 50 by project member jes...@gmail.com, Apr 4, 2011 No. The existing implementation is both too complex and far too slow to merge into core. So, I wonder if it is worth the effort and if they plan to revamp the code at some point. Let me know how it goes..... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It looks like it failed to establish TLS - certificate problem? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (16.4°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
