[opensuse] NetworkManager does not detect ppp connection

All, I have an application which establishes a PPP connection to provide internet access to the PC. Once the ppp connection has been established, IP-address, Gateway address, and DNS entries assigned the Network Manager still does not detect that the connection is up. And all other applications(Firefox, gaim, etc) do not detect that the internet connection is available either. But when I disable the Network Manager the applications then detect that the internet connection is available. Is this a bug in the Network Manager or do I need to do something to notify the Network Manager? Thanks in advance, -- Greg Suarez

NetworkManager pretty much assumes it is the only thing controlling networking. It can handle PPP connections that have a saved password (although not very well currently). There is a bunch of PPP work going on in the NM unstable branch however that should be useable in the not too distant future. -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
