[opensuse] Where and how to complain about mozilla print faults?
Hello: Netscape/mozilla browsers never were good at printing but since mozilla 3.x it is a real pain. It is a shame that during the last almost two years apparently no progress occurred in this field. Not only that firefox, and recently seamonkey, can not remember settings, the print user interface is a pain, not to mention the ugly print results (jamming letters, empty spaces between letters within one word). Where could I complain about it except of bugzilla? Thanks, Istvan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Maybe it is my system then. Could you please check the followings when you'll have a little bit of time? 1. File/Print: select your printer (not 'print to file'), then go to Image Quality/Resolution: my firefox always sets it to 300 dpi and I have to change it at every print job. Please try if your firefox keeps other value than 300 dpi. 2. File/Print: select 'print to file', then go to 'options' and change header/footer then click 'print' . Please check if firefox remembers your header/footer setting the next time when you print. 3. If you add the following line to /etc/gtk-2.0/gtkrc file: gtk-print-backends = "cups, lpr, file" it makes available a 'print to LPR' option in firefox's Print/General window. (This works for firefox 3.5, I am not sure about 3.0.) If you choose Print/print-to-LPR you can adjust the command it uses. Please change 'lpr' for other print command (eg. 'kprinter') and click print. Then try to print again and check if firefox remembers the print command you entered. 4. Please check if you print to file (eg . pdf) you can select an existing file an modify the name. I can't, and it makes very cumbersome to save many files with long names that differ only in one or a two letters.
