Hi, I have mounted a windows 2003 share to SUSE 8.1. in SUSE 8.1, When I copy a local file of 2.3G to the windows share witch is mounted locally /mnt. In the end I got message : File size limit execeeded.
I haven't done this with SUSE 8.1, but in 9.1 I mount shares as follows: mount -t smbfs -o lfs //server/share /localdir the lfs option enables large file support. This is using Samba3 as a client, and I suppose Samba3 on the other side too (server runs some recent flavour of Mandrake). Should work the same way between windows too - I think Samba by default honours the 2gb file size limit so it won't break windows on fat32 discs. -- Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za
