[opensuse] OS12.1: Phonon configuration not remembered
Hi, I just installed OS 12.1 and I am trying to configure the audio system to use Skype. I have a Cisco USB webcam with integrated microphone. To configure the sound capture device I go to: Personal Settings > Multimedia > Phonon > Audio Recording There I notice that my sound card (Internal Audio Analog Stereo) is in the top position and the Mic of the USB webcam (08b6 Analog Mono) is in second position. I then move up the "08b6 Analog Mono" to the first spot under "Audio Recording" and then do a "Apply Device List To..." and select everything. By doing so I now have "08b6 Analog Mono" in top spot for CaptureCommunication, CaptureRecording and CaptureControl. I click OK and close the Dialog box. I then make a Skype test call and I can not hear my own voice. If I go back to Personal Settings > Multimedia > Phonon > Audio Recording I notice that "Internal Audio Analog Stereo" is back in top spot in all categories and that the changes that I made earlier are gone. How can I make my changes stick? Thanks, /~jc -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Help anybody? Let me ask questions differently: 1. can somebody with more than one audio input source try to change their order of preference in Phonon configuration and see if the change survives closing the dialog box? 2. Can somebody tell me where the phonon configuration is stored so I can try to modify the order manually?
