Thanks for you reply Nick.
I already have the box up and running using SuSE 7.2 Personal
and two NIC cards under SuSEfirewall2. What I want to do is
be able to do the same thing in windoze. Yes I could set up
a new dedicated Linux Gateway, but just wanted to see if I
could get this hub working under windoze and be able to use it
when I boot into linux, as I don't need it for Linux.

Keith B.

Hello All,
I picked up a used CNet, CN8800TX (?) mini-hub this weekend at a used computer store - so no info, drivers, etc. The CNet, Inc site only

school stuff and games ( he's 11) and I have SuSE running on it now. I would like to set up a dedicated Linux only gateway in the basement and use this mini-hub, so I won't have to pull put one new cable in this 3 level home. Can anyone tell me or point me to a howto or SxS on how to use and set this up. ( I am a newbie at this, but an older amateur @ networking. I am a physician, not a trained IT or hardware person, but do this as an enjoyable hobby for myself and others).
Somebody already mentioned a floppy based system. If you grab coyote Linux run the script and answer the questions it will create a floppy for you. Put the disk in the machine and reboot and viola a working gateway. Assuming it handles the chores you want and you've answered the questions correctly-) OTOH I'd suggest getting a system setup with something like SuSE so the firewall machine can do more then just what the single floppy based systems offer. But then you will need to setup masquerading, firewall etc on your own.
It depends on what tasks you need done.
