hey guys, I just wanted to thank you for the advice. As for the guy who implied about my S/N well, there's nothing i can say, but whoever can't handle my S/N shouldn't be answering my questions anyways. you'd think they'd be mature enough to handle it. I use this name on a regular basis so i don't see how it would affect anyone else. To anyone who knows, i am hanving problems with my network card now. It recognizes it and everything but when i tried to change the rc.config file i realized that it wasn't really recognizing it. i mean the netconfig was set to 0 and as soon as i popped it to _1 i had a bunch of network errors on bootup. My squid, and cron deamon failed to load. If anyone has any advice. i'd appreciate it greatly. -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>

I think there is more that one variable in rc.config. Better use yast to set up your network and card. It might be possible, that you have to activate / change settings in conf.modules. the information I gain from your mail is a bit to less.
