I came across TeX - all 75MB of it. I never use TeX and I don't know anything about it. I understnd the file format is a standard, but not for me! I wouldn't know a TeX document if it bit me. The question is, is TeX important for other tools? If I delete it will I hit problems later when other utilites I do use suddenly want it but can't use it? I ask because many years ago I deleted Ghostscript thinking I didn't use it. The result was not funny. What, in short, assumes TeX is on the disk?
