[opensuse] KMail in mailing list subscriptions
Before writing the previous message, I had to subscribe. When I clicked on 'subscribe' I got a message about converting KMail emails. I use TBird, so I skipped it. Then I got a message: KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: Failed to fetch the resource collection. This has never happened before. What's up? I subscribed the old-fashioned way. Joe Comfort -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Joe, Your default KDE e-mail client is set to KMail, not Tbird. When you "click on" a 'mail-to:' link, KMail is being launched instead of Tbird. To avoid this behavior change the default application to Tbird. As for your earlier/original problem, I'd: a. shut down Tbird completely b. rename the existing configuration and mail folders to preserve permissions and timestamps (mv ~/.mozilla-thunderbird ~/.tbird-old or similar, I've forgotten the exact names and locations) c. relaunch Tbird and configure it as you normally would (don't import any accounts or settings, set them from scratch.) d. confirm it performs properly using a fresh config & setup hth & good luck, ymmv & regards, Carl P.S. *backups* are your friend ;-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
