Hi everyone, The time has come to swap out my old PCI ELSA Winner video card for an AGP nVidia Quadro I got on EBAY. I'm trying to come up with the best way to get SuSE 8.1 to handle the change with the least disruption. Here is what seems to be the best way: 1 shutdown, power off, remove PCI card, put AGP card in 2 start PC and make any required changes to the BIOS settings 3 re-boot SuSE into a text screen 4 run SAX2 and re-configure X to the new Video card 5 re-boot But I haven't figured out how to tell LILO to boot onlt a text console and I don't know how to setup the system for the nVidia code to use 3D Does anyone have any hints, tips or critques? Don't worry, you'll be invited by suse to configure your new card with sax2 while being in text mode. This sounds like a good idea to get into linux without KDE in case of a problem. What do I put in my lilo.conf file to make "linux Console a menu item"? On Wednesday 22 January 2003 11:50, Ken Schneider wrote:
