Hi All, winbind was working fine and now all of a suden when i start it i get: Starting Samba WINBIND daemon - Warning: /var/run/samba/winbindd.pid exists. when i check the status i get: it says winbind is dead. Why did this happen now all of a sudden and how do i fix it? If /var/run/samba/winbindd.pid exists, and you are absolutely sure that winbindd is *not* running (issue `ps aux`), than you can remove /var/run/samba/winbindd.pid, and try to restart it. I have to say that I do not know winbindd in particular, but this approach is what I would try, after trying to figure out *why* winbindd died of course. ;) Cheers, Leen
