Hi all, Ok, I have my new Epson Perfection 1650 Photo scanner running and doing it's job now! By the way, a great little scanner to have. I want to leave the power on, but I want the lamp to turn off after say 5 minutes of non-use. I think I can do such a thing with a "lampoff=" command somewhere? Where do I need to place this command and how or what else do I need to specify with that command? Details please! Do I add something to my modules.conf file for this? Hello Patrick. I have the same scanner as you, It worked nicely the first time I installed it with yast2, but I had to reinstall it every time I rebooted. When trying to fix that up, I messed it and could not reinstall with Yast2 which could not test it and lost itself making 3 simultaneous instances of y2bignfat. It took me some hours to make it work again. I could fix the thing by reinstalling manually, partly thanks to your previous posts. I was particularly interested in the commands you used, which I did not know. :=( hwinfo sane-find-scanner I would be interested to know if you could install this scanner with yast2 ? or did you do it manually ?

I will be interested if you find a solution to this problem too, though the lamp turns off itself after 15 minutes. Can you use the buttons ? I can't :=( Paul. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paul Ollion Proud Linux User - SuSE 7.3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
